10 days combined Uganda Rwanda safari : The 10 days combined Uganda Rwanda safari will start from Kampala city in Uganda and end in Kigali city in Rwanda. Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Kampala

Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Pickup & Transfer to Kampala.
Transfer to Kampala: Depending on the time of arrival, you will be welcomed by our guide at Entebbe international airport who will give you a short briefing about your safari and then drive you to a lodge in Kampala where you will check in, have an evening relaxation, dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Transfer to Murchison falls national park
Transfer to Murchison: Wake up, have breakfast and then check out of the lodge. Your driver guide will pick you up to transfer to Murchison falls national park which is located in the northern part of Kampala. It takes about 4 to 5 hours’ drive to the national park which is the largest and one of the most visited national parks in Uganda passing via Luwero with en-route lunch in Masindi town.
After lunch you will proceed with the journey to the park and on arrival, you will drive directly to the top of the falls where you will have great views of River Nile, animals, birds species and after you will drive to the lodge, check in, have dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Game drive and Boat cruise
Game drive: After an early breakfast, you will meet up with your driver guide for the morning game drive which starts at around 7:00 or 6:30am. The game drive is the most done activity in the park which is done following different game tracks such as Buligi, Victoria among others and during the game drive you will be able to view various animals in the park such as elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, lions, waterbucks, warthogs, antelopes among others. After the game drive you will drive back to the lodge to have lunch and re-freshen up.
Boat cruise, after lunch you will go for a boat cruise on River Nile which starts at 2:00pm and takes about 2 hours. During the boat ride you will be able to view various animals like the elephants, buffaloes, antelopes on the water shores, hippos and crocodiles in water and some water birds. The boat will continue to the bottom of the falls where you will opt for an adventurous hike to the top of the falls. Hiking to the top of the falls takes about 45 minutes but needs you to be physically fit because it’s strenuous and when you reach on top you will meet up with your driver guide who will drive you to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Transfer to Kibale national park
Transfer to Kibale: After an early breakfast, you will check out of the lodge, meet up with your driver guide and then start the journey to Kibale national park which is situated in southwestern Uganda. It’s a whole day journey but offer you with spectacular views of the Rwenzori Mountains, Lake Albert, Lake Edward and Lake George, rift valley among others. On your way you will have en-route lunch and stop overs to take photos, stretch your legs. Kibale national park is also known as the primate capital because it harbors about 13 primates including chimpanzees, baboons and monkeys therefore upon arrival in the park you will continue to the lodge check in, have dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Chimpanzee trekking in Kibale national park
Chimpanzee trekking: Have an early breakfast and then meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Kanyachu Visitors Centre for a briefing about the rules and regulations of chimpanzee trekking. After the briefing you will be grouped into 6 people, allocated a chimpanzee group to trek and a park ranger who will show you the trails to follow that will lead you to where the chimpanzees slept the previous night.
Chimpanzee trekking in Kibale forest national park starts at around 8:00am and takes about 30 minutes to 4 hours depending on the location of the chimpanzees and once they are found, you will be allowed to spend one hour with them in their natural habitat learning more about their life style, behaviors, watching them breastfeed, feed, play up in the trees, take photos and record the moments with a flash less camera. After the one hour with the chimpanzees, you will trek back to Kanyachu Visitors Centre meet up with your driver guide and drive back to the lodge for lunch.
Nature walk, after lunch you will go for a nature walk in Bigodi wetland where you will have spectacular views of different bird species like the great blue turaco, papyrus gonolek, primates like the black and white colobus monkey, blue monkeys, red tailed monkey, plant species, butterflies and also have and interaction with the local people. After the swamp walk you will meet up with your driver guide and head back to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 6: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park
After an early breakfast on the sixth day of your 10 days combined Uganda Rwanda safari you will check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park. Queen Elizabeth national park is the second largest national park in Uganda situated in southwestern region and the journey takes about 3 to 4 hours’ drive. Upon arrival you will drive through the park as you continue to the lodge where you will check in and have lunch.
Game drive/ lion tracking: After lunch you will go for an afternoon game drive or lion tracking experience in Kasenyi plains where you will have an opportunity of viewing various animal species such as the elephants, buffaloes, waterbucks, Uganda kobs, bushbucks among others. After the game drive you will drive to the lodge have dinner and overnight.
Day 7: Morning boat cruise and transfer to Volcanoes national park
Boat cruise: You will have an early breakfast, check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to transfer for the boat cruise on Kazinga channel. Kazinga channel is a water body that joins Lake George and Lake Edward, the boat ride is an exciting activity which starts at around 9:00am and takes about 2 hours. during the boat cruise you will ride close to the animals such as elephants, buffaloes, waterbucks among others on the shores of the lake, hippos and Nile crocodiles in water, water birds such as martial eagle, papyrus Gonolek, pelicans, African skimmers, cormorants, African spoonbills, fish eagles, king fisher’s among others.
Transfer to Volcanoes national park: After the boat cruise you will drive out of the park and start the journey to Volcanoes national park via Ishasha sector in the southern part of Queen Elizabeth national park. Ishasha sector is famously known for harboring the tree climbing lions which will be viewed lying up in the fig tree branches staring at the antelopes. After the game drive in Ishasha sector you will have lunch and then continue with the journey to Volcanoes national park via Cyanika border in Kisoro. Upon arrival you will check into the lodge, have dinner and overnight.
Day 8: Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes national park
Gorilla trekking: You will carry packed lunch and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Kinigi park headquarters for the briefing about the rules and regulations of gorilla trekking. After the briefing you will be grouped into 8 people, allocated a gorilla family to trek and a park guide who is well conversant with the trails in the jungle. Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes national park starts at around 8:00am and takes 30 minutes to 6 hours depending on the location of the gorillas.
Once the gorillas are found you will be allowed to spend one hour with them in their natural habitat where you will get an opportunity of learning more about their behaviors, habits, watching them feed, breastfeed, take photos and record videos with a flash less camera. Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes national park is an exciting activity that will give you unforgettable experiences on your safari therefore after the one hour encounter with the gentle giants you will trek back to the park headquarters, meet up with your driver guide and transfer to the lodge for an evening relaxation, dinner and overnight.
Day 9: Golden monkey trekking and cultural tour
Golden monkey trekking: After an early breakfast, you will meet up with your driver guide and transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing about the expectations, rules and regulations to follow during golden monkey trekking. After the briefing you will start trekking in the jungle which takes about 30 minutes to 4 hours depending on the location of the golden monkeys. Once the golden monkeys are found you will spend one hour with them in their natural habitat and during the one hour you will be able to where take photos, videos, learn more about their behaviors, habits, lifestyle, watch them jump up in trees among others. After the one hour encounter with the golden monkeys you will trek back to the park headquarters meet up with your driver guide and drive to the lodge for lunch.
Cultural tour: After lunch you will go for a cultural tour where you will visit Iby’iwacu cultural village and during the cultural tour you will have an opportunity of tasting Kinyarwanda food, locally brewed beer made from bananas, you will be entertained by the women as they perform Kinyarwanda dance, entertainment through music, drama, storytelling among others. After the cultural tour you will transfer back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 10: Transfer to Kigali, city tour and departure
Transfer to Kigali & city tour: Have breakfast, check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to go for a city tour in Kigali which is the cleanest city in Africa. During the city tour you will visit Kigali genocide where you will be able to know more about the blood shading of the 1994 Rwanda genocide, visit the craft markets where they make paintings, sculptures, visit Kimironko local market where you will meet the local market vendors sell fruits, vegetables, handmade crafts like mats, baskets, visit cultural sites like Kandt museum of natural history among others.
Transfer to Kigali airport: After the city tour you will go for a buffet at one of the hotels in Kigali and after transfer to Kigali international airport for your next flight.
