5 Days Uganda Primates and Wildlife Safari: The 5 Days Uganda Safari Package is designed for those who want to go on a short safari to see mountain gorillas and other wildlife in one of Uganda’s national parks. The 5-day program includes gorilla trekking in Bwindi National Park, two wildlife drives in Queen Elizabeth National Park, including one to see tree climbing lions in the Ishasha region, and a launch cruise down the Kazinga canal. Day 1: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park – Chimpanzee trekking

Detailed Itinerary for 5 Days Uganda Primates and Wildlife Safari.

Day 1: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park – Chimpanzee trekking

Depending on your location in Kampala, you will be met by our company representative/driver-guide and start your 6 hours’ drive to Kibale forest national park in the western part of Uganda with stopovers to stretch and lunch depending on your location and time. Connect to your at 2 pm for the afternoon chimpanzee trekking experience. Drive to Kibale park head offices for a briefing about the chimpanzees. Enter the forest and start trek the chimpanzees in their natural habitat, its take 2-5 hours to find them and on finding them, you are allowed 1 hour to be in their process as they swing from the branches in the canopy high above the forest floor.

Dinner and overnight stay at Chimpanzee Forest Guesthouse for mid-range/Isunga lodge for budget/Kyaninga lodge for luxury

Day 2: Bigodi swamp walk and boat cruise in Queen Elizabeth national park 

After breakfast, explore the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary. The reserve is abundant with butterflies, plants, animals and, in particular, birds. Spectacular birds like Great Blue Turaco and rare Papyrus Gonolek will be of great interest to birders. The swamp is also home to more elusive animals such as Red Colobus monkeys and Sitatunga antelope. There is also the opportunity to visit local community projects that have been financed by tourism.

Thereafter, embark on your journey to Queen Elizabeth national park with en-route lunch On reaching the park, connect for afternoon boat cruise along the Kazinga channel. Day 3: Morning game drive/Lion tracking and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

You will wake up early, have breakfast, and embark for an early morning lion tracking experience where you will get to see the lions with an en-route game drive in the Kisenyi region for other animals like antelopes, buffaloes, elephants, warthogs, and waterbucks just to mention a few. Thereafter, embark on your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable national park. Day 4: Gorilla Trekking

After enjoying an early breakfast and transfer to park headquarters for the briefing before you set off gorilla trekking. Trekking through the steep, densely forested hills and then finally coming across the gorillas camouflaged in the vegetation is an inspiring and privileged moment. Tracking in the Bwindi forest requires stamina and can often take most of the day and spend an hour in the presence of the gorillas before you return at your meeting point with the driver-guide to return to the lodge. Dinner and overnight stay at lodge as above.

Day 5: Transfer to Kampala/Entebbe

After breakfast, start your journey back to Kampala/Entebbe with an en-route stop at the Equator and lunch. It’s an 8-9 hours’ drive to Kampala/Entebbe. Upon arrival and depending on your drop off advice, you will either be dropped at a location you advise the driver or at the airport for your departure flight back home.
