5 Days Tanzania Wildebeest Migration Safari
Day 1: Arrival
Following your arrival at the airport (Kilimanjaro / Arusha), your private driver guide will pick you up and bring you to your hotel for dinner and overnight before your safari departure the next day.
Day 2-3: Drive to Serengeti National Park (Ndutu Area)
After breakfast, you will begin your journey to the deep south of the Serengeti National Park, commonly known as Ndutu.
Lake Ndutu is located in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, which is part of the southern Serengeti ecosystem. Lake Ndutu, like most other Rift lakes, is alkaline, yet the water is nevertheless potable and used by a diverse range of local fauna.
From December to April, the majority of the wildebeest migration occurs in the short-grass plains. The region is often densely inhabited with elephants, birds, and resident wildlife. The Ndutu Region is located in the northern sector of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and extends to the unfenced southern sections of Serengeti National Park, serving as a meeting place for these two remarkable wilderness regions.
After having your lunch, you will proceed with your game drive and later head back to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater Area
Following breakfast, we continue our en-route drive via South Serengeti National Park before departing for Ngorongoro Crater. When you first visit Ngorongoro Crater, it seems like a forgotten world.
Hidden behind the sheer volcanic cliffs lies a natural environment with wide grassland, patches of acacia forest, and shimmering lakes and wetlands.
The Crater was formed when a massive volcano erupted and fell on itself two to three million years ago. It is well-known for both its geological wonders and its status as a nature reserve with some of the densest big animal populations on the African continent. The Crater offers the best opportunity of sighting the endangered black rhino, which can occasionally be spotted in the wide grasslands.
After lunch and a long wildlife drive inside the crater, head to your accommodation in Karatu for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 5: Tarangire National Park and Drop off in Arusha
Depart for Tarangire National Park early in the morning, after having your breakfast. The park was named after the Tarangire River, which passes through it. This ‘river of warthogs’ is the only source of water for wildlife in the area during the dry season. In sections, the flora is thick, including elephant grass, acacia trees, and a rich groundwater forest.
The park is well-known for its elephant families, who can frequently be seen congregating along the river. You may also witness giraffes, bushbucks, and hartebeest. Predators such as lions and leopards follow these animals carefully. Tarangire National Park has the highest number of breeding bird species in the world!
After lunch and an extended game drive, return to Arusha with a drop off at your hotel or airport. All in all, this concludes your epic 5 Days Tanzania Wildebeest Migration Calving Season Safari journey.
