You will also explore the beautiful Lake Kivu in the western park of Rwanda while on Rwanda Safaris

Day 1: Pick up and Transfer to Ruhengeri
Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Parc National Des Volcans
Day 3: Ibyi’wachu Culture Center visit and transfer to Lake Kivu

Detailed Itinerary for 6 Days Gorillas, Chimpanzees & Lake Kivu.
Day 1: Pick up and Transfer to Ruhengeri
You will be met by our guide who will pick you up from your hotel- Radisson Blue and transfer to Kigali city for a short city tour where you will visit the genocide memorial site. Later in the afternoon, you will transfer to Ruhengeri town for dinner and overnight stay at 5 Volcanoes Gorilla lodge
Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Parc National Des Volcans
Early in the morning after breakfast and a briefing from the RDB officials, set off for the gorilla trekking. This experience of gorilla trekking is a once in a life time adventure. The rangers will lead you deep into the forest in search of the Gorillas.
You will move up and down the rugged terrain until you finally meet these harmonious creatures whose company you will cherish for 1 hour. The activity in Rwanda can take 3-5 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas. In the afternoon you may go for an optional village tour for a cultural experience with a resident local guide. Return for dinner and overnight stay at 5 Volcanoes Gorilla lodge
Day 3: Ibyi’wachu Culture Center visit and transfer to Lake Kivu
In the morning after breakfast, you will connect to enjoy Ibyi’wachu cultural tour and embark on the transfer to take a visit to Lake Kivu for a boat ride on Lake Kivu. After boat cruise, you will go and have lunch and settle in at your lodge. Dinner and overnight at Lake Kivu Serena lodge
Day 4: Transfer to Nyungwe.
Breakfast will be served early and embark on the drive to Nyungwe forest national park with lunch en-route. Dinner and overnight stay at Emeraude Kivu resort
Day 5: Chimpanzee tracking and Canopy Walk
Enjoy breakfast and go for briefing before entering the forest, searching for the active and playful fellows in Nyungwe forest. The Chimpanzees are the easy to spot, as they jump from one tree to another, chattering and laughing. Chimp tracking usually takes about 3 hours. You will then return to your accommodation for lunch.
After lunch, you will go on a walking trail that will take you to the Canopy Walk at Uwinka; a swing bridge 50 meters in length that is suspended from large trees. You will be able to see the amazing rainforest with a bird’s eye view, spotting wildlife moving about below you. Before night fall, you will return to the hotel for dinner as above
Day 6: Transfer to Kigali
Wake up to a good breakfast in the misty Nyungwe forest and embark on the drive to Kigali past impressive tea plantations and arrive Kigali in the afternoon. Drop off at your hotel or at the airport for your onward flight.
