Maravilla Kivu Eco Resort is a 3-star mid-range accommodation found in Kagano Town on the Murwa peninsula in Nyamasheke district, 35 Minutes’ drive (25 miles /43km) to Rwanda’s Nyungwe Forest National Park. The Resort is on the shores of the lake overlooking the stunning View of the surrounding areas. . One can be at lodge by road transport from Kigali International Port which takes approximately a 5-6 hour drive to the resort and an hour flying with a domestic flight from Kigali to Katabi then to the lodge. The lodge is convenient and in a perfect base for safari adventure and relaxation for travelers and tours who want to explore Kivu and Nyungwe National Park

Activities to do while at the resort include; Chimpanzee tracking in Nyungwe National Park, Canopy walking in the forest, Kayaking and Fishing at Kivu, Boat trips, Birding/ bird watching since there are over 24 species to watch along the lake shores, foot ball playing at the resort etcetera.
Nyungwe National Park is the second most famous and most visited park found in the southwestern part of Rwanda bordering Burundi. The park covers a total area of 1020 square kilometers, it’s the home of chimpanzees and colobus monkeys with Its huge area of mountain rainforest. Rwanda small landlocked country found in Central/Eastern Africa, Bordering the democratic republic of Congo, Uganda in the North, Tanzania in the East, and Burundi in the South. Rwanda is the 46th largest country covering a total area of 26, 798KM. Kigali is the capital city of Rwanda and is found at the center of Rwanda. Rwanda has 3 tribes which include; Hutu, Tutsi, and Twa all unique in their ways. Tourism is the leading and growing activity in Rwanda. There are some activities to do while in Nyungwe as well as at the lodge which includes; Chimpanzee trekking in the park, Canopy walk in the forest that gives a view of other primates at the top of the forest, nature walks, bird watching in the park, golden monkey tracking, hiking trails, Visiting tea farms, community tours in the local villages and many more activities. A Chimpanzee permit is 150$ for non-foreign residents and 75$ for foreign residents. The best months to be in Nyungwe National Park is from June to September in a long dry season and from December to mid-February. There are other national parks in Rwanda like Akagera and Volcanoes National Park. There are different attractions in Rwanda like; Gorilla trekking on Volcanoes, Game drive in Akagera, City tour in Kigali, a Bisoke hike, and cultural tours like Ibyi’wachu and many other activities.
