3 Days Nyungwe Primates Tour : The hanging platform that spans the Nyungwe Forest allows tourists visiting the park to observe several animal species at eye level. Rwanda’s Nyungwe Forest National Park is home to a variety of monkeys, and driving through it allows you to observe many of them. You will also witness a variety of monkeys and baboons along the road. A visit to this rain forest is definitely worthwhile!

Detailed Itinerary for 3 Days Nyungwe Primates Tour.
Day 1: Pickup from Kigali and Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park.
You’ll leave Kigali and stop at some of the area’s historical attractions along the way. These include Kamegeri Rock, the King’s Palace Museum in Nyanza, and the Huye Ethnographic Museum. Then, have lunch and drive to Gisakura. Your overnight stay will be in a suggested hotel, lodge, or guesthouse in Gisakura.
Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking and Canopy Walk
Enjoy breakfast and go for briefing before entering the forest, searching for the active and playful fellows in Nyungwe forest. The Chimpanzees are easy to spot, as they jump from one tree to another, chattering and laughing. Chimp tracking usually takes about 3 hours. You will then have your packed lunch and later return back to base where you will meet up with your driver guide.
After having your packed lunch, you will embark on a guided nature walk along the famous canopy walkway bridge- a swing bridge 50 meters in length that is suspended from large trees. You will be able to see the amazing rainforest with a bird’s eye view, spotting wildlife moving about below you there after connect to your accommodation to spend the evening at leisure. This hike takes only 2 hours. Later meet up with your guide and drive back to your accommodation for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Visit Gisakura Tea Estate, Lake Kivu and Transfer Back to Kigali.
After you have had your breakfast, you will meet up with your driver guide and head out for a 2-hour tea tour at Gisakura Tea estate. Get a chance to learn how tea in Rwanda is grown, harvested and processed for final consumption.
After your tea tour, you will head to Lake Kivu in Kibuye where you will visit Napoleon Island and also take a boat ride on the lake. Have lunch and then embark on your return journey to Kigali where you will be dropped off at a hotel or at Kigali International Airport if you have an evening flight back home.
