The national park covers 34 square kilometers and is located in the western part of Rwanda near Nyungwe Forest national park.  The national park shelters 395 bird species, about 60 tree species, a group of 20 chimpanzees and other primates species like golden monkeys, L’Hoest and Blue monkeys among others.
