Detailed Itinerary for 10 Days Kenya and Uganda Safari via Kigali
Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi, Kenya
Pickup upon your arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. Dinner and overnight stay at your arranged hotel in Nairobi.
Day 2: Nairobi (Elephant Orphanage, Nairobi Park and Giraffe Center)
After having your breakfast, you will drive to the Elephant Orphanage insider Nairobi National Park. Spend quality time with the elephants and later enjoy a game drive in Nairobi National Park as you look out for giraffes, zebras, elephants and many more.
Have lunch then proceed to the Giraffe center where you will feed the giraffes before heading back to your hotel. You can choose to visit some shopping malls before heading back to your hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Nairobi to Samburu
Your tour starts with pick up at 7:00 AM from your Nairobi hotel or Airport and drive to Samburu. This drive will take about 6 to 7 hours with diverse views ranging from the raw country side, the central highlands of Kenya, the equator line and views of Mt Kenya. Arrive in Samburu by lunch time and check into your lodge/camp, have a hot lunch and then depart for an afternoon game drive. After the game drive, we head back to lodge/camp to reach by around 5:30 or 6:00 PM, freshen up and enjoy a freshly prepared Dinner. Overnight at your lodge.
Day 4: Samburu to Lake Nakuru
After breakfast checkout and depart to Lake Nakuru National Park which is about 5 hours’ drive from Samburu. Enjoy a morning game drive in Samburu national park as you exit. Look out for wildlife animals like the cheetah, giraffes, zebra, hippo, elephants and many more. You will have a stopover for lunch en-route to Lake Nakuru national park.
Upon your arrival in Lake Nakuru national park, check into your lodge at Nakuru and later depart for afternoon game drives. After game drives till around 6:00 PM, we proceed to your camp/lodge for a freshly prepared dinner. Overnight stay at your Camp/Lodge.
Day 5: Nakuru to Maasai Mara
We start around 7:30 AM from your Nakuru lodge and drive to Maasai Mara. You will get to embark on a morning game drive in Lake Nakuru national park as you exit. This is your chance to look out for any wildlife species that you might have missed sighting during your previous game drive in the park.
Your drive to Maasai Mara National Reserve will take about 5 to 6 hours with a stopover for lunch en-route. Arrive in Maasai Mara shortly after noon and check into your lodge/camp, have hot lunch and then depart for an afternoon game drive. After the game drive, we head back to lodge/camp to reach by around 5:30 or 6:00 PM, freshen up and enjoy a freshly prepared Dinner. Overnight at your lodge.
Day 6: Full Day Game Drive in Maasai Mara
Today’s itinerary is flexible and you can discuss with your guide on the previous evening and plan for today’s schedule. You can either have a relaxed breakfast and depart for full day game drives around 9:00 AM with packed lunch and return back to lodge late afternoon around 6:00 PM. Or you can depart at 6:00 AM on an early morning game drive (This is the best time to see the animals and a good chance to witness hunt/kill). Later return to accommodation for breakfast and relax for a bit and depart on an afternoon game drive with packed lunch. you will stop at a picnic spot for having packed lunch and later depart on a game drive till the park is closed. Around 6:00 PM return to lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 7: Morning Game Drive Maasai Mara and Drive to Nairobi for Flight to Kigali
After a relaxed breakfast exist the park while enjoying a morning game drive in the park. Enjoy your morning game drive in Mara as you exit the park and head back to Nairobi. You will have a stopover for lunch en-route to Nairobi. On reaching Nairobi in the evening, you will be dropped off at the airport in time to check-in and board your evening flight to Kigali.
Pickup upon your arrival at Kigali international airport in the evening and drive to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay. (Booking your own flight to Kigali) You can also choose to customize this part of the itinerary and fly from Nairobi to Entebbe international airport in Uganda. Please inform us in advance in case you wish to make this change.
Day 8: Pick up in Kigali and transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park
Pickup from your hotel in Kigali. You will start with a brief tour of Kigali city where you will visit the Genocide Memorial Center and then start the journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
This drive takes about 6 hours and you will have a stopover for lunch en-route to the park. You will be entering Uganda via Katuna/Cyanika land border so you will have another stop to clear with immigrations at the border. Once you are done clearing with immigrations, you will proceed to the park arriving in the evening and check-in at your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 9: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi and Transfer to Kibale NP
After an early breakfast on day 9 of the safari, you will carry packed lunch from the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to the park headquarters for a gorilla trekking briefing. After the briefing you will start trekking in the jungle which takes about 30 minutes to 6 hours depending on where the gorillas are located. During trekking you will enjoy spectacular views of other primates, animals, plants, bird species among others and once the gorillas are found you will be allowed to spend one hour with them in their natural habitat which gives you an opportunity to learn more about their behaviors, watch them carry out their daily activities, take photos and record the moments to show people back home.
After the exciting moment with the mountain gorillas you will trek back to the park headquarters where you will meet up with your driver guide and embark on about a 6 hours’ drive to your lodge in Kibale National Park. Dinner and overnight stay at your lodge.
Day 10: Chimpanzee trekking and transfer to Entebbe
After an early breakfast on the last day of the 10 Days Kenya and Uganda Safari via Kigali, you will check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Kanyachu Visitors Centre for chimpanzee trekking briefing. After the briefing you will start trekking in the forest which takes about 30 minutes to 4 hours depending on where the chimpanzees are located.
Once the chimpanzees have been located, you will be able to spend one hour with them in their natural habitat which gives you an opportunity to learn more about their life style, behaviors, watch them feed, play in trees, take photos and record videos with a flash less camera.
After the one-hour encounter with the chimpanzees you will trek back to the park headquarters where you will meet up with your driver guide and start the journey back to Kigali with en-route lunch on the way. After lunch you will continue the journey to Entebbe arriving in the evening and upon arrival, you will be dropped off at Entebbe international airport for your flight back home.
