Day 1: Pick up & Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable forest
On Day 1 of this amazing 4 Days Gorilla trekking and Lake Kivu tour, you will be picked from your hotel/place of residence or from the airport in Kigali. Immediately you will embark on a journey to Bwindi impenetrable national park through the Katuna border. You will arrive in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in the afternoon and will head on for some refreshing at Silverback Gorilla Lodge. Later on, you will be shown the way to your dinner and you will have an overnight stay at the lodge.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking Bwindi
Kick-off day 2 of the 4 Days Gorilla trekking and Lake Kivu tour with an early morning breakfast. After breakfast, you will be transferred to the park headquarters. Along with you, you shall carry packed lunch from the lodge and bottled drinking water for a briefing by the park ranger guides at 7:00 am. After the briefing, start your gorilla trekking journey. You will be accompanied by the ranger guides in search of the mountain gorillas. This trekking may take about 2-6 hours depending on the whereabouts of the gorillas. This is because they keep moving around the forest. Once you find them, enjoy 1 hour observing and taking photos. Later on head to a safe place and have your lunch after that, travel back to the park headquarters where you will find your guide who will drive you back to the lodge. On arrival at the lodge, have lunch and rest. In the evening you can opt to do a small community tour around the local communities guided by the local guide, after which you will return to the lodge for Dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 3: Lake Kivu tour
Day 3 of this amazing 4 Days Gorilla trekking and Lake Kivu tour is full of wonderful sights and sounds. You will wake up to a wonderful breakfast prepared by professional chefs. After breakfast meet your guide who will then transfer you to Rwanda and straight to the town of Gisenyi. On reaching Gisenyi, head to Lake Kivu and join in on a boat ride as you visit the local fishing villages.
After the boat ride, you will return to the shores of the Lake Kivu, have lunch, then relax while you enjoy swimming, or other relaxation actvities at the shores. The views of the lake with its captivating blue waters are eye-catching together with the views of the Mountains, the islands, the fishing boats, and the breeze. Also, have a glimpse of the Nyiragongo Volcanoes in the Democratic Republic Congo. Later on, transfer to the hotel (Lake Kivu Serena Hotel) for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 4: Transfer back to Kigali
Finish off the 4 Days Gorilla trekking and Lake Kivu tour, you will wake up to an amazing breakfast with great views of the lake. After that, you will be transferred to the Kigali and upon arrival, you will have a city tour where you will visit the Genocide memorial grounds, local markets, museums, craft shops, do some shopping and later transfer to the airport for your flight back home.
